Youth Leadership Training Empowers 25 Young Participants in Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur Diocese

Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, May 12, 2025 – The Diocesan Youth Commission of the Ambikapur Diocese conducted a five-day Youth Leadership Training Programme from 7th to 11th May 2025 at the diocesan pastoral centre. Designed to equip young individuals with essential leadership skills grounded in faith and service, the programme brought together 25 youth from various parishes across the diocese.

The programme was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Antonis Bara, Bishop of Ambikapur. In his inspiring keynote address, Bishop Bara emphasised that true leadership is rooted in spiritual values and a heart dedicated to service. His words set the tone for a week of learning, reflection, and personal growth.

Mr. Vinod Kumar, a renowned trainer, motivational speaker, and life coach, was the resource person for the training programme. Throughout the training, he engaged the participants with interactive sessions on key topics including leadership skills, effective communication, spirituality and the Catholic faith, event and programme organisation, prioritising life goals, the role of Jesus in one's personal journey, youth-oriented issues and personal development. Participants actively engaged in discussions and activities designed to enhance their confidence and capabilities as young leaders.

The training programme culminated with a solemn closing ceremony, during which Fr. William Urray, Vicar General of the Diocese, celebrated a Holy Mass and later imparted his blessings to the youth through a special anointing. Certificates of participation and appreciation were distributed to participants and volunteers.

During the closing event, the Commission also outlined its vision and future plans, encouraging the youth to stay committed to diocesan activities and to carry forward the values instilled during the programme in their personal and community lives.

The training programme marked a significant step in building a generation of faith-driven, service-oriented youth leaders across the Diocese of Ambikapur.
