Shillong, 11 May, 2025 – The Young Catholic Students (YCS) of the Shillong Archdiocese came together in vibrant spirit to celebrate their Annual Commitment Day at St. Margaret’s School, Shillong. The event drew more than 750 students from 16 schools across the Archdiocese, accompanied by 40 dedicated animators.
The day-long programme was seamlessly coordinated by the brothers of Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong, led by Bro. Godfrey and his team. They received significant support from the YCS core team and college cell, ensuring the event’s smooth execution.
A key spiritual highlight was the Holy Mass, solemnly presided over by Fr. John Barman MSFS, Regional Youth Director, and concelebrated by Fr. Pyndailang, SDB. The liturgy offered a sacred space for prayer, reflection, and renewal of faith.
Throughout the day, students engaged in moments of fellowship, reflection, and recommitment to the YCS mission. The central feature was the act of commitment, during which members pledged to uphold the YCS motto: “See, Judge, Act.”
The event not only reinforced the spiritual foundation of YCS members but also strengthened their resolve to live out Gospel values in daily life. With high energy, deep faith, and communal solidarity, the Annual Commitment Day stood as a testament to the vitality and vision of the YCS movement in the Shillong Archdiocese.
