Pope Leo XIV Celebrates Mass at Saint Peter’s Tomb

On Saturday morning, Pope Leo XIV celebrated Holy Mass at the altar near the tomb of Saint Peter, located in the Vatican Grottoes.

As reported by the Holy See Press Office, the Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Alejandro Moral Anton, Prior General of the Order of Saint Augustine.

After the liturgy, Pope Leo XIV spent time in silent prayer at the tombs of former popes. He also paused before the niche of the Pallia—woollen stoles that represent the bond between the Pope and metropolitan archbishops around the world.
