Seals Removed from Papal Apartment in Apostolic Palace

Vatican, 11 May 2025 – Following the Regina Caeli prayer from the Loggia of the Blessings on 11 May, Pope Leo XIV had the papal apartment of the Apostolic Palace reopened with the removal of the seals that had been affixed on the afternoon of 21 April after the passing of Pope Francis.

The reopening took place in the presence of Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, Camerlengo; Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State; Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, Substitute for General Affairs; Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations; and Archbishop Leonardo Sapienza, Prefect of the Pontifical Household.
