Students Gather to Celebrate Annual Day of Hope and Creativity in Goa

Sancoale, Goa, 13 November 2025: The Holy Family Communication Centre held its Annual Day programme, HOFCOM Frames 1.0, at the Holy Family Multipurpose Hall in Sancoale. Led by Directress Sr. Molly Fernandes sfn, the event focused on the theme “Awakening Hope with Gentle Whispers”.

The programme opened with a Welcome Prayer Dance by students of St. Joseph Vaz High School, performed to the theme song “Whispers of Hope”. A brief welcome followed, along with the presentation of potted plants and tokens of appreciation to the dignitaries: Chief Guest Fr. Kinsley D’Cruz, Guest of Honour Mr. Desmond Gonsalves, Superior General Sr. Berna Rodrigues, and judges from Don Bosco College, Panjim — Sr. Catherine Prisilda, Mr. Archie Fernandes, and Ms. Christal Ferrao.

One of the main moments of the event was the release of the Savera magazine, themed “Seeds of Grace, Nurturing Hope”, unveiled by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour in the presence of the audience.

In his address, Fr. Kinsley D’Cruz spoke on self-understanding and relationships. He emphasised the need to know one’s identity, saying, “We need to know who and what we are.” Comparing the heart to a compass, he encouraged everyone to recognise the “North Star” of their life and highlighted that meaningful connection is built through love.

Competitions formed the core of HOFCOM Frames 1.0, involving students from institutions under the Holy Family Nazareth Educational Society — from pre-primary to secondary, along with Social Centres, Boarding, and Formees. Both on-stage and off-stage events reflected the theme of hope. The decor and designated selfie point added to the experience, and Sr. Francilla sfn anchored the programme.

The event concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where students received trophies and certificates for their performances. Sr. Vincita sfn delivered the Vote of Thanks.

A brief Children’s Day celebration followed, with students cutting a cake and marking the day with enthusiasm.

The Overall Trophy for HOFCOM Frames 1.0 was awarded to Perpetual Succour Convent High School for their collective performance.
