All India Catholic Union Condemns Red Fort Blast as Terror Probe Expands Across States

Delhi, November 13, 2025 : All India Catholic Union issued a strong statement on 12 November 2025 in response to the fatal car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, where 13 people were killed and 20 injured, as police investigate what happened, who is affected, where the blast occurred, when it took place, and how authorities are pursuing forensic and nationwide terror probes. The explosion, which also killed the driver of the vehicle, is under investigation after police traced a suspected terror module operating across several states, while DNA tests are underway to identify the victims.

In its message, the All India Catholic Union recalled this year’s earlier tragedy in Kashmir, noting that “25 tourist, all men including a Christian from Indore city, were killed in a terrorist attack in a meadow in Pahalgaon in Kashmir valley.” The Union reaffirmed its long-held position, stating it has “unequivocally condemned wanton acts of terrorist violence in any part of the country” and emphasised that “no political, ideological, religious or sectarian reason can justify such bloodshed.”

The Cabinet has condemned the Red Fort blast as a “heinous terrorist act” by “anti-national forces,” invoking the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) to identify those responsible. The All India Catholic Union warned of terrorism’s wider social impact, describing it as “a cascade of private agonies” that fractures communities as “neighbours eye strangers” and minorities fear reprisals.

Recognising the swift action of government and police, the All India Catholic Union urged central and state authorities to “take all necessary precautions maintaining peace and harmony in the country.” It noted the Catholic laity’s continued commitment to supporting victims and fostering communal harmony. The statement concluded with the Union affirming that it “stands with all secular elements in India who condemn terrorism, communal hate and sectarian violence, and in the pursuit of peace and harmony.”
