St. Aloysius College in Harihar, Karnataka Hosts Interreligious Retreat to Foster Unity And Dialogue

Harihara, November 7, 2025: An interreligious retreat promoting unity and understanding among students of different faiths was organised at St. Aloysius P.U College, Harihar in Karnataka by Fr. Anil and Fr. John Baptist. The retreat aimed to encourage harmony and mutual respect among students from diverse religious backgrounds.


Fr. Anil welcomed the gathering and emphasised the importance of working for humanity and fostering interreligious understanding. He urged students to participate actively and embrace dialogue as a path to peace.


The resource persons for the retreat were Fr. Vinay Kumar, Regional Secretary for the Interreligious Dialogue Commission, Halima Ji, and Sr. Pavithra from the Brahmakumaris. Each speaker shared insights from their religious traditions, promoting mutual respect and deeper understanding.


The talks were followed by an interactive interreligious dialogue session with the students, who asked questions and shared their thoughts. The exchange was meaningful, with students and speakers openly discussing their beliefs and experiences.


The retreat served as an important step towards strengthening interreligious harmony within the institution. It provided students with a platform to learn from one another’s perspectives and grow in respect and solidarity.
