Bengaluru, 15 April, 2025– The Karnataka Regional Youth Commission (KRYC), in partnership with Jesus Youth Karnataka, hosted a compelling spiritual online session titled “Calvary’s Path: No Shortcuts” on 9 April 2025. The hour-long event formed part of their “Reconnect – Listen, Live & Lend” Lenten series and brought together over 70 young participants from across the state.
Led by Mr. Naveen Lobo, a lay missionary and former Animator of the Jesus Youth Karnataka Council, the session explored the deeper meaning of the Cross and the Christian call to selfless commitment. Mr. Lobo emphasised that carrying the Cross is not a solitary act but a shared journey where mutual support and living out Christ’s teachings are essential.
Drawing from scripture and his personal faith journey, Mr. Lobo delivered an inspiring reflection that resonated with attendees. A lively Q&A session followed, encouraging deeper engagement and dialogue among the youth.
Key figures in attendance included Fr. Lourd Raj, Regional Youth Director; Sr. Molly, Regional Lady Animator; Ms. Vileena Gonsalves, KRYC Coordinator; and Ms. Jassica Santhmayor, KRYC Secretary. Youth directors from various dioceses also participated, with Ms. Jesvita D’Souza, YCS YSM Regional President, adeptly moderating the session. Ms. Gonsalves delivered a warm vote of thanks.
Marking the final event of the Lenten initiative, the session served as a powerful reminder that the Christian path is one of dedication, sacrifice, and authentic spiritual growth.
