Lucknow, India - October 14, 2025 - St. Fidelis Church in Lucknow hosted "Jubilee of Hope" on October 12, bringing together over 250 children from nine parishes. The celebration, organized by the St. Fidelis Youth, aimed to nurture faith through Bible-based competitions themed on the Gospel of John.
The event commenced with a Eucharistic celebration led by Fr. Dominic Pinto, Director of the Lucknow Diocesan Youth Commission, and Fr. Simon Xalxo, Parish Priest. In his sermon, Fr. Pinto emphasized the importance of gratitude, urging the children to "Thank God for His blessings at all times."
The children participated in various competitions, including Bible Quiz, Drawing and Colouring, Group Singing, Fashion Show, Monoacting, and Recorded Skit, all reflecting the Gospel of John. The Monoacting Competition, which depicted Jesus healing the blind man, conveyed a powerful message of "hope for new beginnings."
The St. Fidelis Youth led lively games and action songs, keeping the spirits of the children high throughout the event. Friends of Jesus of St. Dominic Savio Church emerged as the winners of the Champion of Champions Trophy.
The event concluded with closing speeches by Fr. Pinto and Fr. Xalxo, expressing joy and prayers for future celebrations. The Jubilee of Hope fostered a sense of community and faith among the young participants.
