Amruthavani Radio Veritas Asia Telugu service celebrates RVA Day in Eluru Diocese, AP

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, October 15, 2025: Amruthavani Telugu Service celebrated RVA Day on the 12th of October at St. Theresa’s Church, Eluru , Andhra Pradesh.

The Eucharistic Celebration was led by Bishop Jayarao Polimera of Eluru diocese, who delivered an inspiring homily and administered Confirmation and First Holy Communion to children and youth. As part of the day’s program, Bishop Polimera released the poster for the RVA Short Film Contest

Fr. Pappula Sudhakar, Coordinator of RVA Telugu Service, outlined RVA’s history. Launched in English on 11 April 1969, responsibility was entrusted to the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) in 1970.

In 1976, Amruthavani Communications Centre initiated the RVA Telugu Service for Telugu-speaking communities. From 1976 to 2018, it reached audiences via radio broadcasts. Since 2018, RVA has expanded to social media platforms—Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram—offering Telugu news, Vatican updates, and programmes on weather and the environment.

Fr. Sudhakar noted that RVA’s main aim is to “proclaim the Word of the Lord to all people of Asia, particularly local communities in their own languages.”
