Benaulim, October 15, 2025: The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) conducted the 6th Batch of Diocesan Administration Training for Vicars General and Chancellors at Shanti Sadan, Benaulim, Goa, from the 14th to the 18th of October. The week-long programme, attended by 21 participants from 15 dioceses, focused on enhancing pastoral, canonical, and spiritual formation for effective diocesan leadership.
Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão of Goa and Daman, inaugurated the programme by leading the Eucharistic Celebration. He delivered a keynote address on “Administration as a Ministry of Relationship.” He stated that diocesan leadership should reflect “the images of the shepherd, steward, and servant—anchored in love, stewardship, and humility.”
The sessions were led by Fr. Christopher Vimalraj Hiruthya (Associate Deputy Secretary General) and other celebrants who covered several topics such as Canon Law, diocesan administration and pastoral issues. Participants undertook a spiritual pilgrimage to Bom Jesus Basilica, Sé Cathedral, and St. Joseph Vaz Church, deepening their pastoral mission.
The programme concluded with a thanksgiving Eucharist and closing remarks, urging participants to serve as collaborative and compassionate administrators in Christ’s Church.
