St. Aloysius College, Bangalore, Celebrates Strength and Resilience on International Women's Day

Bangalore, 13 March 2025 – St. Aloysius Degree College marked International Women’s Day on 8 March with an inspiring celebration honouring women's contributions to society. The event fostered empowerment through speeches, performances, and interactive sessions.


Distinguished guests included Ms. Samrudhi Choodamani, an NGO entrepreneur, who shared the story of a young woman who overcame abuse and human trafficking to build a successful career as a beautician. Ms. Kavitha Nagaraj, a photographer, spoke about challenging gender barriers in her field, while Ms. Meghana Shivakumar, a software developer, discussed balancing academics and athletics.  


Also present were Principal Dr. Sr. Sagaya Mary B., Vice Principal Fr. Vinoo Fabian, and Manager Rev. Fr. Anthony Mahendran.


The programme also featured testimonies from two student leaders who shared their experiences as women within the institution. A special segment invited mothers of students to share personal experiences, adding depth to the celebration.


Male faculty members performed a musical tribute, while a mime act by students creatively depicted women’s resilience and struggles. Recognising unsung contributions, the college honoured its housekeeping staff for their dedication to maintaining cleanliness.


In the lead-up to the celebration, the college also organised creative competitions, including rangoli-making, hairstyling, a fashion walk, and collage-making, encouraging female students to showcase their talents.


The event left a lasting impact, reinforcing the importance of uplifting and supporting women across all walks of life.
