Pope’s Condition Stable as He Marks 12th Anniversary of Papacy

Vatican, 14 March, 2025: The Holy See Press Office provided an update on the Pope's condition on Thursday evening, coinciding with the 12th anniversary of his election to the papacy.

In the afternoon, medical staff presented the Pope with a cake adorned with candles in celebration of the milestone.

Despite his health challenges, the Pope followed the Spiritual Exercises for the Roman Curia via video link with the Paul VI Hall and continued his respiratory therapy.

He remains on a treatment plan that involves alternating between non-invasive mechanical ventilation at night and high-flow oxygenation with nasal cannulas during the day.

The Vatican confirmed that the Pope’s clinical situation remains stable, though his condition is described as complex.
