Pope Francis to Lead Jubilee Mass Celebrations for Communication and Armed Forces

Vatican, January 9, 2025: Pope Francis will preside over Jubilee Masses for the World of Communications and for Armed Forces, Police, and Security Personnel in St. Peter's Basilica, according to the liturgical agenda released by the Vatican on Wednesday. The Jubilee for the World of Communications will take place from January 24 to 26, with the Pope celebrating Mass on January 28, the Third Sunday of Ordinary Time, also known as the Sunday of the Word of God. Two weeks later, on February 11, the Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Pope Francis will celebrate a Mass marking the conclusion of the Jubilee for Armed Forces, Police, and Security Personnel.

In addition to these Jubilees, the Pope’s upcoming calendar features other significant liturgical events. On January 25, he will lead Second Vespers for the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul at the Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, concluding the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Further, on February 1, he will preside over First Vespers for the feast of the Presentation of the Lord in St. Peter’s Basilica.

These celebrations reflect Pope Francis's ongoing commitment to uniting diverse groups within the Catholic Church while emphasizing the spiritual significance of the Jubilee Year and key liturgical observances.
