Karnataka Regional Youth Commission Hosts Online Way of the Cross for Young Catholics

Vijayapura, Karnataka, April 3, 2025: The Karnataka Regional Youth Commission (KRYC) organised a solemn Online Way of the Cross on April 2, 2025, as part of its "Reconnect" initiative for the Lenten season. Led by the ICYM diocesan executive members of the Chikkamagaluru Diocese in collaboration with the youth of Holy Family Church, Vijayapura, the event brought together over 55 online participants, and 50 youth and parishioners gathered at the church for an evening of prayer and reflection.

The service was led by Rev. Fr. Francis Rasquinha (Parish Priest), Rev. Fr. George Fernandes (Diocesan Youth Director), and Rev. Fr. Collin Nischith Lobo (Assistant Youth Director), who offered prayers for the various intentions of young people. The ICYM diocesan executive committee members and parish youth thoughtfully curated the liturgy, addressing the spiritual needs and concerns of the participants.

The event was graced by the presence of the regional youth director, Rev. Fr. Lourd Raj; KRYC coordinator, Ms. Vileena Gonsalves; and KRYC secretary, Ms. Jassica Santhmayor, along with other regional team members.

Diocesan Youth President Mr. Emmanuel Sanjay and regional representative Ms. Steena D'Souza played key roles in facilitating the event alongside the diocesan executive committee. Their efforts ensured the success of this spiritual initiative, which aimed to strengthen the faith of young people and unite them in prayer.
