Bengaluru, June 24, 2025: The Karnataka Government's Minority Welfare Department is accepting applications for Pre-Matric Scholarships for the academic year 2025–26. The scholarship is open to students from minority communities studying in Classes 1 to 8. Eligible students can apply online through the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) or the department’s official website. The application window opened on June 13 and will remain open until September 30, 2025.
Eligible applicants must be residents of Karnataka and belong to one of the notified minority communities — Muslim, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Sikh, or Parsi. The initiative aims to support the educational needs of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds within these communities.
Students whose scholarship applications were approved for the 2024–25 academic year do not need to reapply, as their scholarships will be automatically renewed. However, students entering the 1st standard in 2025 or those who did not receive the scholarship last year must submit fresh applications.
Applicants must ensure that their bank accounts are Aadhaar-seeded and NPCI-mapped to facilitate direct transfer of funds under the scholarship scheme.
Interested applicants can submit their forms online via the State Scholarship Portal (SSP) at ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in/ssppre or through the Minority Welfare Department’s official website at dom.karnataka.gov.in.
