First Official Portrait and Signature of Pope Leo XIV Released by the Vatican

Vatican, 10 May 2025 – The Vatican has unveiled the first official portrait and signature of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.

The image, dated 8 May 2025, presents the Holy Father in a richly embroidered mozzetta, standing serenely in a sacred setting.

His signature, “Leone PP. XIV,” reflects continuity with tradition and has now been formalised for official use.

This release marks a symbolic milestone in the early days of his papacy.

The official portrait will now appear across Vatican documents and communications.
