Dumka, August 21, 2025 – More than 200 people came together for the “Faith Fest” in the Diocese of Dumka, Jharkhand, on 16 August, at Don Bosco Parish, Barapahari.
Youth, children, catechists, sisters, and priests from Joypur, Dumka, and Barapahari participated in the diocesan gathering, which highlighted faith formation, fellowship, and the celebration of Catholic identity.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Joseph Pauria, Provincial of the Kolkata Salesians, who called on the faithful to embrace their vocation as missionary disciples. In his address, he also underlined the value of education, urging participants to pursue it seriously as a means of shaping a better future.
The fest featured a Catholic Catechism Quiz, cultural dances, and faith-centred skits, creating an atmosphere of joy and learning. Barapahari Parish secured the top position in the competitions.
The event was coordinated by Fr. Peter Munna, SDB, and his team, who expressed that the Salesians remain dedicated to nurturing youth and guiding communities towards a deeper faith.
