Vatican Dignitaries Laud Catholic Connect’s Role in Digital Evangelization During Bangalore Visit

Bangalore, November 25, 2024: Dr. Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See and Dr. Natasa Govekar, Director of the Department of Pastoral Theology - Pastoral, visited the Catholic Connect team in Bangalore on November 23. Their visit underscored the Church’s commitment to modern communication, highlighting Catholic Connect’s pivotal role in fostering digital engagement within the Catholic community.


Rev. Dr. Cyril Victor Joseph welcomed the esteemed guests and introduced the Catholic Connect team alongside ATC Publishers and Arclight Global Private. Limited., emphasizing their collective mission to serve the Church through innovative communication initiatives.


Nigel Fernandes, Managing Director of Arclight Global Private Limited & Catholic Connect, expressed gratitude for the Vatican's consistent encouragement. Mr. Abhishek Joseph further elaborated on the Catholic Connect team’s dedicated efforts, explaining how the team has been tirelessly working to expand their reach across the nation and connect with diverse Catholic communities.


The dignitaries began their journey at the Infant Jesus Shrine, renowned for its devotion and healing, followed by visits to St. Mary’s Basilica, celebrated for its neo-Gothic architecture, and St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, a central hub of worship. Reflecting on their experiences, Dr. Ruffini and Dr. Govekar praised the vibrant faith of the local community, as well as the dedication of the clergy and laypeople who sustain the Archdiocese and the broader Catholic Church.


The visit not only strengthened ties between the Vatican and Catholic Connect but also highlighted the critical role of communication in the Church’s evangelizing mission.
