Spiritual Unity: 1200+ Bangalore Religious Leaders Attend BCRI’s Sanyasa Sangama 2025

Bangalore, Feb 3, 2025 – The Bangalore Conference of Religious India (BCRI) hosted Sanyasa Sangama 2025—Consecrated Day at Christ University, Bangalore, uniting over 1,200 religious men and women from various congregations on February 2. Centered on the theme "Pilgrims of Hope," the event emphasized the role of consecrated individuals in fostering unity and service in the mission of Christ.


The gathering was led by Fr. Raju MSFS, President of the Conference of Religious India (CRI), and Fr. Louis CP, Vice President, alongside executive members Sr. Roshini PHJC, Sr. Anjali SSAM, Sr. Margarita SCB, Sr. Jessy FHIC, Fr. Arun Louis SJ, Bro. Xavier Antony CMSF and Fr. Sebastian CMI.


The day commenced with a Eucharistic celebration, with Fr. Jesusdoss Rajmanickam, Director of St. John's Medical College, as the main celebrant, joined by Fr. Varghese CMI, Rector of Dharmaram, and other concelebrants. In his homily, Fr. Jacob MSFS encouraged the consecrated to take proactive steps in their ministries and work towards collective unity across congregations for the greater good of the Church.


Following the Mass, Fr. Louis CP presented the BCRI Annual Report, highlighting key developments and initiatives. Bishop Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath of Mandya Diocese spoke on practical ways to live out the Jubilee theme in one's own community. Dr. Fr. Jose CC, Vice Chancellor of Christ University, underscored the importance of social engagement and digital evangelisation in the modern world.


The event's chief guest, Daya Bai, a renowned Indian activist and social worker, captivated the audience with her inspiring journey of discerning her vocation and dedicating her life to uplifting the marginalised, particularly tribal communities.


Adding to the significance of the event, Mr. Abhishek Joseph, General Manager at Catholic Connect, introduced the Catholic Connect app, explaining its features and encouraging religious communities to use the platform for better connectivity and outreach.


The day was enriched by cultural performances, including vibrant dance performances by the Formees of Daughters of Charity of Vincent De Paul and the Formees of St. Anne’s of Madras. An enthralling musical performance by Mr. Manoj George and his band captivated the audience, adding a festive spirit to the gathering.


Sr. Jessy FHIC delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all involved. The event, skillfully anchored by Sr. Margarita Dias SCB and Fr. Pradeep SJ, concluded with a fellowship lunch, fostering fraternity and shared mission among the attendees.


Sanyasa Sangama 2025 was not just a celebration of consecrated life but also a reaffirmation of the call to be hopeful pilgrims, actively engaging in mission and service for the Church and society.
