Vatican, 9 March, 2025: Pope Francis' health is showing gradual improvement following a period of medical concern, according to an update from the Holy See Press Office on Saturday evening, 8 March.
The Vatican confirmed that the Pope's condition has remained stable in recent days, indicating a positive response to treatment. His breathing has improved, and his blood test results remain stable. Notably, the Pope has not experienced a fever at any point.
While doctors have noted these encouraging signs, they continue to describe his prognosis as "guarded" and are closely monitoring his recovery.
On Saturday morning, Pope Francis received the Eucharist and prayed in the chapel of his private apartment. During the afternoon, he alternated between rest and attending to some work.
The Holy See Press Office also confirmed that, as planned, Pope Francis received high-flow oxygen therapy with nasal cannulas during the day and would transition to non-invasive mechanical ventilation overnight.
Despite his health challenges, the Pope will spiritually participate in the upcoming Lenten spiritual exercises with the Roman Curia. His Angelus message will be distributed as usual.
