Varanasi Diocese Holds Annual Basic Ecclesial Communities Convention

VARANASI, 9 March, 2025: Varanasi Diocese organised the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) Annual Convention from 7 to 9 March 2025 at Nav Sadhana Kala Kendra, Varanasi. A total of 127 representatives from various parishes of the diocese took part in the gathering, which focused on the theme “As pilgrims of hope, BECs to build the body of Christ in our neighbourhood.”

Bishop Eugene Joseph of Varanasi delivered the keynote address, emphasising the need for BECs in parish life. Fr. George Jacob S.A.S., the National Secretary of BECs, and Mrs. Jyotsana Lal served as resource persons, delivering motivational talks and sharing their experiences. Participants also engaged in cultural skit programmes and discussions that provided inspiration and insight into strengthening BECs.

Fr. Roselin Raja, the diocesan secretary of BECs, encouraged the participants to motivate more faithful to take part in BEC meetings in their respective parishes.
