Pilgrims Embark on Spiritual Journey to Harobele, Karnataka

Harobele, Karnataka, 3 April, 2025 - A group of 21 devoted parishioners from Bangalore undertook a spiritual pilgrimage to Harobele on 10 March, strengthening their faith through prayer and fellowship. Organised by Our Lady of Rosary Church and sponsored by four parishes, including St. Jude’s R.T. Nagar and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the journey brought together members from various religious groups.

Setting off early in the morning, the pilgrims made a brief stop for breakfast in Kanakapura before reaching Harobele, where they were welcomed by Fr. Patrick Pinto. He celebrated Mass in Tamil and shared insights into the church’s history and miraculous events, particularly those during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pilgrimage gained momentum when another group from Bangalore, led by Fr. Pramod, joined them. A shared lunch further strengthened their spiritual camaraderie before they travelled to Bettadahalasur. There, they visited St. Anthony of Padua Church, renowned for its miraculous stories. The church is set to unveil St. Anthony’s Miracle Park, Stations of the Cross, and an Adoration Chapel, with a grand blessing by Archbishop Peter Machado on 1 April 2025.

The journey continued to Mariapura (Thalaguppe) Mount Carmel Church, famed for its annual Passion of Christ drama and the striking ‘Mother of Water’ statue. As the day concluded, the pilgrims returned to St. Jude’s Church, grateful for an enriching spiritual experience that deepened their faith and community bonds.
