Bengaluru, August 13, 2025 – The National Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in India, known as CHARIS India, convened at the CCBI Secretariat in Bengaluru to meet Fr. Christopher Amalraj, Associate Deputy Secretary General of the CCBI, along with other secretary priests.
The delegation comprised Archbishop Francis Kalist of Pondicherry–Cuddalore & CBCI’s Episcopal Advisor to CHARIS India and Incharge of Pro-Life Ministry; Chev. Cyril John, CHARIS International Member in the Vatican; Mr. Victor Joans, CHARIS India Coordinator; Mr. Ajin Joseph, National Youth United for Christ (YU4C) Coordinator and CCBI Youth Commission Council Member; and other national leaders from various regions.
Fr. Bobby Emprayil VC, Provincial of the Vincentian Congregation in Delhi and CHARIS India representative for all Charismatic Retreat Centres, offered a prayerful invocation. Fr. Christopher then outlined the scope and achievements of the various CCBI commissions and their ongoing initiatives. CHARIS India members subsequently provided comprehensive updates on their nationwide activities, reaffirming their dedication to deeper collaboration and pledging sustained prayerful support for CCBI projects.
Describing the event as a milestone, Archbishop Francis Kalist remarked, “This is a historic meeting, as it is the first time CHARIS India, as a national body with all its members, has visited the CCBI Secretariat.”
The gathering fostered a spirit of fellowship, strengthening the bonds between the national CHARIS leadership and the CCBI.
