Media Course 2025 Empowers Migrants BEC Animators to Navigate the Digital Age

Chandigarh, March 19, 2025 – The Media Course 2025 was held at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Chandigarh from March 18 to 20, bringing together 32 media animators from various dioceses across India, including two bishops.  

The workshop, organised by Fr. George Jacob SAC, Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for BECs, was facilitated by Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph of the CCBI Media Commission. This course aimed to equip animators with the skills to navigate the challenges of the ever-evolving tech world.  

The Bible Enthronement was led by Most Rev. Ignatius Mascarenhas of the Simla-Chandigarh Diocese. In his address, he emphasised the urgent need for media empowerment among Catholics, highlighting how major media corporations often distort simple news.  

Leading a session on Synodal Communication in the Digital Environment, Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph noted that online platforms are increasingly shaping behavior and stressed the importance of embracing AI technology rather than fearing it.  

The Media Course 2025 served as a crucial step in preparing Catholic media animators to engage effectively with the digital world.
