Jaipur, Dec. 18: Nearly 2,000 members of the Christian community gathered at St. Xavier’s Senior Secondary School here on Sunday afternoon for a Christmas rally organised by the Jaipur Christian Fellowship, underscoring unity, faith and the public expression of Christmas values.
The rally was held under the chairmanship of Bishop Joseph Kallarackal of Jaipur and witnessed participation from clergy, religious and lay faithful drawn from parishes across the diocese. Bishop Emeritus Oswald J. Lewis, along with pastors, priests, religious sisters and brothers and lay leaders, was present at the event.
As part of the rally, parish groups presented Nativity-themed floats depicting the birth of Jesus and highlighting the central Christmas message of peace, love, joy and hope. The procession was accompanied by hymns, placards, Christian symbols and Nativity tableaux, drawing the attention of the public as it moved through the campus.
Organisers said the rally was aimed at presenting Christmas as a message of compassion, humility, service and reconciliation. They added that the event sought to remind participants of their responsibility to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalised and to translate the values of Christmas into social commitment.
