Civil Services Awareness Seminar Ignites Aspirations Among Christian Youth

Bangalore, June 16, 2025: A powerful and purpose-driven Civil Services Awareness Seminar was successfully held on 14 June 2025 at the HRD Centre, Karnataka Central Diocese Office, Bengaluru. The event opened with a time of praise and worship led by Pr. Moses, uplifting and inspiring Christian youth aspiring to serve the nation through the civil services.


Jointly organised by ICUF (Indian Christian Unity Forum), Catholic Connect, CSI Karnataka Central Diocese, KNE Trust, and Prathibha Foundation, the seminar drew a vibrant crowd of over 200 enthusiastic aspirants eager to learn, network, and strengthen their preparation for civil service careers.


Mr. Nigel Fernandes and Mr. Nishal D'Souza warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, followed by the official welcome address by Mr. J. A. Kanthraj, PRO of the Archdiocese of Bangalore. He highlighted the vital role of community support in the journey towards civil services.

Spoke on effective exam strategies, the power of consistency, and shared insights from her own success story in clearing the KAS exam.

  • Dr. Ronald Anil Fernandes, Former KPSC Member

Explained the KPSC selection process in detail and offered practical tips for focused and efficient preparation.

  • Mr. Anthony Vikram, Director, KMDC

Informed attendees about government-funded scholarships and schemes available to minority candidates pursuing competitive exams.

  • Mr. Anthony Mendonca, Prathibha Foundation

Delivered an inspiring address on resilience, the importance of mentorship, and building support networks throughout the civil service journey.

Highlighted accessible and affordable coaching options, affirming that quality training will be made available through Kerala Samajam.


An engaging Q&A session was conducted by Mr. Elisha Andrews, KAS, who addressed a wide range of queries from the audience with clarity and actionable advice—earning much appreciation from the participants. Aspirants had a valuable opportunity to interact directly with experts, clear doubts, and gain insights from real-life experiences.


The event was expertly anchored by Dr. Carol Mascarenhas, Consultant at Bangalore Baptist Hospital, who served as the Master of Ceremonies. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Solomon Raju, C.A., Treasurer of CSI, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all speakers, organisers, and attendees.


The seminar concluded with refreshments, offering a relaxed setting for networking, fellowship, and meaningful conversations between aspirants and mentors. This seminar was more than just an information session—it served as a catalyst for transformation, affirming that with faith, discipline, and proper guidance, Christian youth can confidently pursue careers in civil service.
