Khandwa, July 11, 2025: The Khandwa Diocesan Social Services (KDSS), a unit of the Catholic Diocese of Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, set up a special service stall near Stadium Ground in Khandwa on July 10 to serve devotees visiting the Dadaji Dhuniwale Temple on Guru Purnima. Volunteers at the stall offered free first aid, tea, biscuits, and clean drinking water to pilgrims, many of whom had walked barefoot from different parts of Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states.
Countless devotees stopped by the stall to enjoy refreshments and receive basic healthcare services. Sisters Ivy, Kusum, and Seema from the Khandwa Diocese efficiently delivered medical care to pilgrims, providing great relief to many. Alongside them, numerous KDSS workers served with dedication, enthusiasm, and compassion to meet the needs of all devotees.
KDSS has organised this initiative every year for the past decade to support Guru Purnima pilgrims who face large crowds and intense heat. KDSS Director Father Robinson emphasised the purpose behind the effort, saying, “We aim not only to offer services but to ensure every visiting devotee feels respected, cared for, and safe.”
The initiative stands as a powerful example of the Khandwa Diocese’s commitment to social welfare and communal fraternity.
