Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh, June 23, 2025: "YCS Connect", the regional meet of Young Catholic Students (YCS) units from across Madhya Pradesh, was held from June 16 to 18 at the Bishop’s House in Meghnagar, in the Diocese of Jhabua. Organised by the Madhya Pradesh Regional Youth Commission (MPRYC), the event brought together around 75 students from five dioceses across the region for faith formation, leadership training, and fellowship.

The programme commenced on June 16 with an orientation session led by Fr. Joshy, the Regional Youth Director (RYD) of the Madhya Pradesh region. This was followed by the inaugural Holy Mass, presided over by Bp. Peter Rumal Kharadi, Bishop of Jhabua Diocese.

In his homily, Bishop Kharadi encouraged the participants to remain active in faith, love one another, and become exemplary Christians in society. The day concluded with activities aimed at enhancing the group dynamics of the participants, followed by a good night message.

On the second day, Fr. Thomas P.A., the Vicar General of Jhabua Diocese, celebrated the morning Eucharist, which was concelebrated by Fr. Vishal Mal, the Diocesan Youth Director (DYD) of Jhabua. The formal inaugural ceremony of the event followed, presided over by Bishop Kharadi.

During the ceremony, Fr. Vishal extended a warm welcome to all the participants, while Fr. Joshy delivered an inspiring address based on the biblical verse, “You are the light of the world,” urging the youth to be active, vigilant and responsible citizens of society.

The day continued with a session on the YCS methodology and structure, conducted by Anuj Ninama, a member of the YCS National Executive Committee (NEXCO) from the Jhabua Diocese. This was followed by the election of a new Regional Executive Committee (REXCO) for the YCS unit of the Madhya Pradesh region. Later, Fr. Joshy led an insightful session on leadership.

In the afternoon, all the youth participated in indoor games, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary and benediction. The day concluded with a vibrant and colourful cultural programme.

The final day of YCS Connect featured a Thanksgiving Mass presided over by Fr. Joshy. Diocesan Youth Directors and Assistant Diocesan Youth Rectors from all five dioceses of Madhya Pradesh concelebrated the Mass, which brought the spiritually enriching and empowering three-day event to a meaningful close.
