Youth Fest and Mega Job Mela Empowers Youth in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh

SRIKAKULAM, 6 May, 2025 – The ICYM Srikakulam Diocese, in collaboration with Don Bosco (DISHA) and National Career Services, successfully hosted a three-day Youth Fest and Mega Job Mela from 3 to 5 May 2025 at Mariagiri Shrine. The event aimed to inspire, empower, and create employment pathways for the youth, blending spiritual formation with career development.

Held under the leadership of Most Rev. Dr. Rayarala Vijaya Kumar PIME, Bishop of Srikakulam and Chairman of the TCBC Commission for Youth, the event also saw the active guidance of Rev. Fr. Medipalli Sleeva Raju SDB (Diocesan Youth Director), Rev. Fr. Justin SDB (Director of DISHA, Hyderabad), Mr. Seedi Sudheer (Diocesan Youth President), and Mr. Raju Challagali (Regional Youth President, ICYM Telugu Region). Their direction and presence provided both structure and spiritual grounding to the initiative.

Youth Fest Highlights

Around 300 young people from across the diocese participated in a range of activities designed to foster leadership, community, and personal growth. The fest featured spiritual sessions, motivational talks, group discussions, leadership workshops, prayer gatherings, and cultural performances. It encouraged a deeper sense of unity, purpose, and social responsibility among the participants.

Mega Job Mela Outcomes

Fifteen reputed companies across sectors such as retail, IT services, manufacturing, education, and customer support conducted on-the-spot recruitment during the Job Mela. Out of 110 attendees, 72 candidates received immediate job offers—a major breakthrough in their professional journeys.

Impact

The event not only addressed the employment challenges faced by rural youth but also reaffirmed the Church’s role in holistic youth development. By intertwining spiritual upliftment with career support, it left a profound and lasting impact on all who attended.

The Youth Fest and Mega Job Mela 2025 stood as a testament to the Church’s enduring commitment to the welfare and progress of young people, offering them both hope and opportunity for a better future.
