Who are the Holy Souls in Purgatory?

They are our brothers and sisters in faith, loved ones, friends, and even strangers, who have gone before us and are now being purified in God’s love.

They are called holy because they died in God's grace, and poor because they can no longer pray for themselves. Yet, through our prayers, sacrifices, and the Holy Mass, we can help them reach the fullness of Heaven’s light.

Every time we whisper, “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,” we bring comfort to souls longing for His presence. Our love, united with Christ’s mercy, becomes a bridge between earth and eternity.

Prayer

Merciful Father, in Your compassion, welcome the souls in Purgatory into Your eternal rest. May the fire of Your love purify them and bring them swiftly to the joy of Heaven. Amen.
