All Saints’ Day: Celebrating Modern Witnesses of Holiness

All Saints’ Day isn’t just about halos and history — it’s about every soul who has made it home to Heaven, even the ones we don’t know by name yet. Holiness didn’t stop in the Middle Ages; it continues today in ordinary lives lived with extraordinary faith.

These are some of the saints in the making who show what modern holiness looks like:

Blessed Solanus Casey: A humble friar and doorkeeper known for his prayers of healing, simple wisdom, and the ability to see Christ in everyone he met.

Servant of God Sr Clare Crockett: Once an aspiring actress, she gave up fame for faith and lived with radical joy, surrender, and devotion to God.

Servant of God Dorothy Day: A journalist turned activist who lived the Gospel through hospitality, justice, and relentless mercy to the poor and forgotten.

Servant of God Sr Thea Bowman: A dynamic woman of faith, music, and culture who revealed the beauty of Black Catholic spirituality and joy within the Church.

Blessed Stanley Rother: An Oklahoma priest who remained with his people in Guatemala amid violence, ultimately giving his life for love.
