St. Francis of Assisi Church in Dibrugarh Celebrates Jubilee of Hope

Rajabari, October 14, 2025: St. Francis of Assisi Church, Rajabari, in the Diocese of Dibrugarh, celebrated the “Jubilee of Hope” for nearly 100 children from twelve village communities on 12 October . The gathering in the parish church united children, catechists, and 300 faithful. Fr. William Horo, Rector of St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary, led the Eucharistic celebration.

Honouring Our Children’s Jubilee

Fr. Caesar Henry, Parish Priest, welcomed all, stating, “Responding to the call of Pope Leo XIV to celebrate the Jubilee of Hope for all sections of the faithful, we have been celebrating the jubilee in our parish since the beginning of this year. Today, we gather to honor our children’s Jubilee.” The celebration began with a cultural procession, where children from each village carried crosses to the altar, symbolising unity and faith.

Forgiveness and Hope for Eternal Life

In his homily, Fr. Horo reflected on the “Prayer of Hope,” saying, “As we proclaim in the prayer, God, through the passion of His Son Jesus Christ, grants us forgiveness in this life, and ensures hope for eternal life to come.”

He explained, “Two types of sin, mortal and venial sins are represented by the ostracized ten lepers from the society in the Gospel and un-ostracized Naaman, the leper respectively. However, all sins including the original sin are forgiven in our baptism and later in the confessional.”

A Marian quiz, organised by Mr. Bipul Hans and Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk, deepened the children’s devotion to Mary during the Holy Rosary month, with Fr. Horo awarding prizes to winners.
