Patna, October 19, 2025: The Conference of Diocesan Priests of India (CDPI), Bihar Region organised a two-day Renewal Programme at Nav Jyoti Niketan, Patna, bringing together priests from six dioceses for a time of reflection, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.
The gathering aimed to help priests deepen their spiritual roots, strengthen pastoral commitment, and foster fraternity among diocesan clergy. Archbishop Sebastian Kallupura of Patna, Patron of CDPI Bihar, inaugurated the event, highlighting the importance of nurturing the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of priests. He reminded participants that the purpose of CDPI is “the welfare of diocesan priests” and called for continued solidarity and spiritual growth within the presbyterate.
Bishop Cajetan F. Osta of Muzaffarpur, Chairman of BRBC Patna, also graced the programme, commending the initiative for creating space for reflection and renewal amid the demands of priestly ministry.
The sessions, led by Fr. Joseph Xavier, S.J., encouraged priests to rediscover their vocation, identify contemporary challenges in ministry, and cultivate resilience in the face of spiritual fatigue and burnout. Through reflection and open sharing, the priests explored ways to strengthen collaboration, rebuild trust, and remain faithful to their mission in the changing realities of pastoral life.
The renewal programme concluded with a collective resolve to recommit to the path of Christ-centred service and leadership. Participants affirmed the need for ongoing formation and fraternity as essential elements of an effective priestly life.
Expressing gratitude, Fr. Sahayaraj C., President of CDPI Bihar, said the event served as a meaningful moment of grace, helping priests “reconnect with the heart of their calling and renew their commitment to serve the people of God with joy and faithfulness.”
