Pope Leo’s New Book to Be Released on 20 November

Vatican, Nov 15, 2025: A new book by Pope Leo, La forza del Vangelo. La fede cristiana in 10 parole (The Power of the Gospel: The Christian Faith in 10 Words), features a previously unpublished text by the Holy Father. Published by the Vatican Publishing House (Libreria Editrice Vaticana) and scheduled for release on 20 November, the book is an anthology of Pope Leo XIV’s speeches and interventions organised around key Christian themes.

“We can no longer tolerate structural injustices in which those who have more always receive more, while those who have less grow ever poorer,” writes Pope Leo XIV in the previously unpublished Introduction to his new book.

Edited by Lorenzo Fazzini, editorial director of the Vatican Publishing House, the book is a thematic anthology of the Pope’s writings and speeches. It revolves around ten key words central to Christianity, presented in the following order: Christ, heart, Church, mission, communion, peace, poor, fragility, justice, and hope.

In his Introduction, Pope Leo reflects on the current global situation, noting: “There is the risk that hatred and violence will spill over, spreading misery among people.” He points to a possible solution: “The desire for communion, recognising that we are brothers and sisters, is the antidote to all extremism.”

La forza del Vangelo (The Power of the Gospel) will be featured in a series of public events in the coming weeks in several Italian cities, organised by the Vatican Publishing House in collaboration with ecclesial and cultural institutions. Scheduled dates include 21 November in Vicenza, 21 November in Cremona, 25 November in Trento, 1 December in Verona, 5 December in Genoa, and 15 December in Cagliari.

Alongside the book presentations, the events will include screenings of the documentaries León de Perú and Leo from Chicago, both produced by the Dicastery for Communication. The films focus respectively on Robert Prevost’s missionary work in Peru and on his American origins.
