VATICAN CITY, May 22, 2025: Pope Leo XIV will preside over a series of liturgical events throughout June 2025, including Mass every Sunday and a Consistory of Cardinals, according to the calendar released by the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff. The events will take place in Vatican City and Rome, beginning on June 1 and continuing through June 29.
The month’s liturgies begin on Sunday, June 1, when Pope Leo will celebrate Mass in the morning at St. Peter’s Square to inaugurate the Jubilee of Families, Children, Grandparents, and the Elderly. One week later, on Pentecost Sunday, June 8, the Pope will again preside over a morning Mass in the same location, this time marking the Jubilee of Ecclesial Movements, Associations, and New Communities.
On Monday, June 9, the Holy Father will celebrate Mass around midday in St. Peter’s Basilica for the Jubilee of the Holy See, coinciding with the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church.
On Friday, June 13, Pope Leo XIV will convene an Ordinary Public Consistory of Cardinals in the morning to vote on several Causes of Canonisation, a key step in the Catholic Church’s process of declaring new saints.
Papal liturgies will continue on Sunday, June 15, with Mass in the morning for the Jubilee of Sport in St. Peter’s Square. On Sunday, June 22, the Pope will shift to the Basilica of St. John Lateran, presiding over Mass in the evening, marking the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, followed by a Eucharistic procession to the Basilica of St. Mary Major.
The schedule concludes with two major feasts. On Friday, June 27, Pope Leo will celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the morning in St. Peter’s Square. Finally, on Sunday, June 29, he will lead a morning Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica for the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles.
These events form part of the broader Jubilee Year observances, drawing pilgrims and faithful from around the world to celebrate with the Pope at the heart of the Catholic Church.
