Mumbai, February 5, 2025: On February 1, 2025, St. Francis Xavier Church, Vile Parle, came alive with the spirit of worship as it hosted ‘Rocklamation’, a dynamic Gospel music concert and faith encounter under the Diocesan Youth Centre’s (DYC) “High Five” initiative for the Jubilee Year. The faith-filled evening brought together nearly 2,000 young people for an unforgettable encounter with Christ. Led by Deacon Ivan Fernandes, the event combined prayer, worship, and spiritual renewal, inspiring deeper engagement with faith.
The event began with prayer and adoration, setting the tone for a night centered on faith and renewal. The highlight of the evening was the faith-sharing session by renowned choreographer Terence Lewis, who shared his personal journey of faith and how God’s presence has guided him throughout his life and career.
Following this, the atmosphere was electrified by a Gospel music concert by Dr. Jarvis, where the young participants lifted their voices in praise, singing and dancing in joyful worship, much like King David before the Ark of the Covenant. The church was transformed into a sacred space of energy, joy, and celebration, as the youth expressed their faith through music and movement.
As the night progressed, the focus shifted to deep contemplation. The exuberant worship gave way to a profound silence as the Blessed Sacrament was exposed for Eucharistic adoration. In that moment, the entire church, once filled with song and movement, was now immersed in reverence and stillness, as young people knelt before the Eucharistic Lord, offering their hearts in prayer. "Young people are not just the future of the Church; they are the present. We must empower them to lead, and they will transform the world," shared Sr. Althiya, Lady Youth Animator of the Archdiocese of Bombay.
The Archdiocese of Bombay's "High-Five" events creatively engage youth in the Jubilee Year 2025 through faith-driven initiatives, including Music (Rocklamation), Sports (Prayerathon), Art (HEart), outreach (CIAO), and digital evangelisation (8.25 FM). These dynamic programs inspire deeper faith, encourage participation, and strengthen young people's connection with Christ through meaningful and interactive spiritual experiences.
