Rome, October 23, 2025 — According to the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, as reported by the Economic Times, Italy has been named the world’s most-loved tourist destination for 2025, scoring an impressive 97.80 out of 100.
Travellers continue to be drawn to Italy’s unique blend of history, art, architecture, and faith, with iconic sites such as St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, the Cathedral of Florence (Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore), and St Mark’s Basilica in Venice among the country’s most visited landmarks. The report also highlighted major cities such as Rome, Venice, Milan, and Florence, along with smaller towns like Palermo, Bergamo, and Brescia, for their deep cultural and spiritual appeal.
Following Italy, Qatar ranked second with a score of 96.67, and Japan third with 96.22, reflecting evolving traveller preferences that value immersive cultural and experiential journeys across continents.
Italy’s enduring popularity underscores its ability to balance historical preservation with vibrant contemporary life — a combination that continues to captivate travellers from around the world.
