Infant Jesus Church, Nandbagh, Indore Celebrates National Youth Sunday

Nandbagh, Indore, August 7, 2025 – The National Youth Sunday celebration at Infant Jesus Church, Nandbagh unfolded with profound devotion, vibrant participation, and spirited enthusiasm on Sunday, 3 August 2025. The celebration was meticulously coordinated by the parish youth under the guidance of Fr. Naveen Deny Balraj (Parish Priest), Sr. Diana (Youth Animator), and the Parish Council, drawing the active involvement of over 70 young parishioners.

The day commenced with a solemn procession beginning at the Grotto, during which the newly installed statue of Infant Jesus was blessed. The sacred moment was enhanced by a graceful, devotional dance performed by the Mata Maria Sangh, setting a reverent tone for the day’s celebrations.

Following the procession, the congregation gathered for the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Mahesh Sulya, Director of the Youth and Vocation Commission, Indore, alongside Fr. Naveen Deny Balraj. The youth led the liturgy with devotion and creativity—animating the choir, carrying out a dignified Bible procession, and offering symbolic gifts such as church and stationery items. Miss Aerica Machar and Mr. Silvester Arland proclaimed the Word of God, while Miss Nikita Sulya expressed gratitude in a heartfelt vote of thanks.

The event continued with a vibrant cultural programme, featuring captivating dance performances by the Bal Yeshu Sangh (BYS) and the Mata Maria Sangh. Their artistic expressions reflected the joy, faith, and dynamism of the Church’s young generation.

In addition, tailored sessions were organised for various youth groups—Nanhe Farishte, BYS, YCS, and CYM. These interactive sessions were animated by Sr. Angelina, Fr. Mahesh Sulya, Mr. Praveen Paul, and Miss Anjali Tirkey from the Youth Commission Indore. Through inspiring talks, reflections, games, and action songs, the youth experienced growth, learning, and joyful engagement.

A major highlight of the day was the basketball tournament, igniting teamwork and competitive spirit among the youth. The event featured four boys’ teams and two girls’ teams, competing in four thrilling matches. Mr. Allen D’Santos officiated the games with professionalism, while the basketball court was graciously provided by the St. Anne’s Sisters.

The celebration concluded with a joyous fellowship meal, bringing together youth, guests, and parishioners in gratitude and unity.

The day’s theme was inspired by the scripture verse:

“You also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.” – John 15:27

This powerful message resonated throughout the celebration, reminding the youth of their mission to be witnesses of Christ through their lives and service.
