CHINGLEPUT, Tamil Nadu, 26 February 2025: The CCBI Jubilee Yātra was held in the Diocese of Chingleput, Tamil Nadu, on February 20, 2025, at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre. Organised as part of a clergy recollection, the event witnessed the participation of 120 priests from across the diocese. The event aimed to reflect on the Final Document of the Synod and discern pastoral priorities for Jubilee Year. Led by Fr. Yesu Karunanidhi, the national coordinator for the jubilee 2025, the session emphasised synodal leadership and mission-orientated pastoral renewal. Rev. Fr. I. Yesu Anthony, Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Chingleput, convened the yatra.
During the event, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Anthonisamy Neethinathan, Bishop of Chingleput, encouraged the clergy to embrace a more listening, accompanying, and service-driven approach. "As we journey towards Jubilee 2025, let us renew our commitment to a Church that listens, accompanies, and serves with the heart of Christ," he urged.
During the floor discussions, participants shared insights on the significance of the synodal process in pastoral ministry. "The Synodal process invites us to move beyond structures and embrace a spirituality of communion, making our pastoral outreach truly inclusive," one participant reflected. Another participant, Fr. Maria Lawrence A., noted, "Jubilee 2025 is a call to reimagine evangelisation in our local context, ensuring that the Gospel resonates with the realities of our people."
The yatra concluded with a collective commitment from the participants to implement synodal insights in their pastoral ministry to have a more collaborative and missionary Church during the Jubilee year.
