Cardinal Poola Encourages Faithful to Watch The Chosen: Last Supper Together in Theatres

Hyderabad, 8 April 2025 – Cardinal Poola Anthony, Archbishop of Hyderabad, has invited all parish priests and community leaders across the Archdiocese to help promote the theatrical release of The Chosen: Last Supper, a new film from the globally acclaimed series The Chosen. The movie is set to release in PVR cinemas across India this April.

In a message to clergy and parish leaders, Cardinal Poola described the film as a meaningful opportunity for the faithful to experience the Gospel in a fresh and impactful way. The movie offers a powerful depiction of Jesus’ final moments with His disciples, encouraging deeper reflection on His love, sacrifice, and mission.

Parishes have been asked to announce the release during Masses and community gatherings, and to circulate the digital poster in parish WhatsApp groups. The organising team will also assist with physical posters for wider promotion.

“This initiative can serve as a tool for spiritual enrichment, especially for our youth and families,” the Archbishop wrote, encouraging parish communities to consider watching the film together.
