Bishop Valan Arasu Rededicates Newly Renovated St. Francis Assisi Church in Ghuttas, Jabalpur, M.P

Ghuttas, M.P., June 12, 2025: The rededication and blessing of the newly renovated St. Francis Assisi Church in Ghuttas, a mission parish under the Diocese of Jabalpur, was held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. The rededication ceremony was presided over by Rev. Dr. J. G. Valan Arasu, Bishop of the diocese, and was attended by parishioners, diocesan clergy, religious, and members of the local Catholic community.

Parish priest Fr. Anish Jeberson concelebrated the liturgy with the bishop and participated in the blessing of the newly restored church building.

The rededication holds special significance for the mission parish, which has endured numerous challenges over the years. The successful renovation not only enhances the physical structure of the church but also stands as a testament to the enduring faith, resilience, and unity of the local Catholic community.

The Diocese of Jabalpur hopes that the restored St. Francis Assisi Church will continue to be a spiritual beacon for Catholics in Ghuttas and surrounding villages, fostering deeper devotion and strengthening Christian witness in the region.
