Bangalore Youth Deepen Their Faith at Holy Redeemer Church’s Lenten Retreat

Bangalore, 25 March 2025 – The youth of Holy Redeemer Church, Hennur, gathered for "Ignite – A Lenten Experience" on 23 March, a day of prayer, reflection, and fellowship in preparation for Easter.  

A Day of Grace and Renewal  

The Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Gerald Anand, CSsR, setting a prayerful tone. Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Christopher P, CSsR, led the opening prayer, invoking the Holy Spirit’s guidance.  

With action songs and praise, the HRC Worship team encouraged a spirit of joy and devotion, drawing hearts closer to Christ.  

Strengthening Faith Through the Word

Br. Freddy from Spiritual Revival Ministry delivered a powerful talk on "Salvation in the Eucharist," inspiring a deeper love for the Real Presence of Christ. Reflecting on "Sin, Our Saviour & the Sacrament of Confession," he urged the youth to seek God’s mercy and embrace a life of repentance.  

Small group discussions in the church garden provided an opportunity to engage with biblical characters and faith struggles, fostering personal reflection and spiritual growth.  

Seeking Truth and Encountering Christ

A Panel Discussion, led by Br. Raghu, explored key topics such as Mary’s Assumption, Discernment, Relationships, and the Eucharist, offering insights from Scripture, the Catechism, and the wisdom of the Saints.  

The retreat culminated in Eucharistic Adoration, where Fr. Gerald Anand, CSsR, processed with the Blessed Sacrament, creating a profound moment of encounter with Christ.  

A Life Rooted in Faith

As a gesture of gratitude, Mrs. Lydia Sebastian, the Youth Animator, honoured the speakers for their guidance and encouragement. The retreat concluded with fellowship and shared testimonies, leaving the youth strengthened in faith and inspired to deepen their spiritual journey.
