Ajin Joseph Appointed Catholic Engagement Manager for The Chosen in India

Bangalore, January 6: The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) has announced the appointment of Mr. Ajin Joseph as the Catholic Engagement Manager for The Chosen in India, marking a significant step in strengthening faith formation and church initiatives across the country.


The Chosen is a seven-season television series depicting the life and ministry of Our Lord Jesus Christ. With five seasons already completed, the series has reached millions of viewers worldwide and has emerged as a global phenomenon, transcending cultures and nations.


The CCBI is closely collaborating with The Chosen team to effectively use the series as a powerful resource for catechesis, evangelization, and faith formation within the Church in India. The series is available in several Indian languages and is offered completely free of cost through The Chosen TV platform and mobile application.


Mr. Ajin Joseph, from the Archdiocese of Delhi, is a committed pro-life speaker and musician with extensive experience in ministry, having served in more than seventy dioceses in India and abroad. In his new role, he has been entrusted with coordinating The Chosen “Tell Everyone” Movement across all 132 CCBI dioceses in India. He will work closely with bishops, clergy, religious communities, and lay leaders to help integrate The Chosen into parish life, catechetical programmes, and community-based initiatives.


The official appointment letter was formally handed over to Mr. Ajin Joseph by Rev. Fr. Christopher Vimalraj, Associate Deputy Secretary General of the CCBI, in the presence of Ashish Nag, Country Manager for The Chosen India, at the CCBI Secretariat in Bangalore on 6 January.


All dioceses, religious congregations, institutions, and apostolates have been requested to extend their full cooperation to Mr. Ajin Joseph as the Church in India continues its mission of bringing the story of Jesus to hearts and homes across the nation.


The announcement was issued by Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, President of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) and Archbishop-Patriarch of Goa and Daman.
