Ajin Joseph Appointed Catholic Engagement Manager for The Chosen in India

Bengaluru, 6 January — The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) has appointed Mr. Ajin Joseph as Catholic Engagement Manager for The Chosen in India, a move aimed at strengthening faith formation and church initiatives across the country.

The Chosen is a seven-season television series that portrays the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. With five seasons already completed, the series has reached millions of viewers worldwide and has gained global recognition for its storytelling across cultures and nations.

The CCBI is working closely with the The Chosen team to promote the series as an effective tool for catechesis, evangelisation and faith formation within the Church in India. The series is available in several Indian languages and is offered free of cost through the The Chosen TV platform and mobile application.

Mr. Ajin Joseph, who belongs to the Archdiocese of Delhi, is a pro-life speaker and musician with extensive ministry experience, having served in more than seventy dioceses in India and abroad. In his new role, he will coordinate The Chosen “Tell Everyone” Movement across all 132 CCBI dioceses in India.

He will work in close collaboration with bishops, clergy, religious communities and lay leaders to integrate The Chosen into parish life, catechetical programmes and community-based initiatives.

The CCBI formally handed over the appointment letter to Mr. Joseph on 6 January at the CCBI Secretariat in Bengaluru. Fr. Christopher Vimalraj, Associate Deputy Secretary General of the CCBI, presented the letter in the presence of Ashish Nag, Country Manager for The Chosen India.

The CCBI has requested all dioceses, religious congregations, institutions and apostolates to extend full cooperation to Mr. Joseph as the Church in India continues its mission of bringing the story of Jesus to homes and hearts across the nation.

The announcement was issued by Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, President of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India and Archbishop-Patriarch of Goa and Daman.
