For Simon William, a deep-rooted family devotion to Mother Mary became more than a tradition — it became a source of miraculous healing. His experience as a young boy battling life-threatening illness reaffirmed his unwavering belief in the intercession of Mother Mary and the power of the Rosary.

Simon William grew up in a family that held a steadfast devotion to Mother Mary for generations. From an early age, he was taught to honour her, recite the Rosary, and trust in her intercession. “Our elders always reminded us of the importance of the Rosary,” he shared. “It was not just a ritual but a way of life for us.”

That family faith was put to the test when Simon was in the sixth class and diagnosed with both typhoid and jaundice — two serious illnesses that left him bedridden for over a month. His condition worsened as medications seemed ineffective, with treatment for one disease aggravating the other.

“I remember being extremely weak, and nothing seemed to help,” Simon recalled. “But my family never gave up. Every day, they prayed the Rosary with unshaken faith.”

During his illness, Simon’s parents regularly gave him blessed water and oil from Velankanni, applying it with devotion and prayer. He firmly believes it was through Mother Mary’s intercession and his family’s unwavering faith that he began to recover.

“It wasn’t just the medicine,” he said with conviction. “It was faith that brought me back. My parents’ prayers and belief in Mother Mary’s healing power saved me.”

Today, Simon continues to carry forward that legacy of faith. His family prays the Rosary daily and teaches their children its spiritual importance. “I truly believe Mother Mary has always been with me and will continue to guide and protect me throughout my life,” he expressed.
