Goa, 29 October 2025: The Parish Youth of Our Lady of Snow Church, Raia, from the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, undertook a four-day Mission Visit to Ajra in the Diocese of Sindhudurg from 23 to 27 October. Organised under the guidance of the Commission for Faith Formation, the visit was part of the Church’s ongoing “Pilgrims of Hope” initiative, aimed at fostering faith, fellowship, and service among young people.
A group of 22 youth members, accompanied by their animator and a religious sister, immersed themselves in prayer, cultural exchange, and service activities that deepened their faith and strengthened bonds within the community.
The youth spent time in several villages, including Halewadi, Dabil, Shelap, and Khadge, where they interacted with local families and children through games, prayer, and moments of reflection. Evenings were marked by participation in processions, Holy Mass, and fellowship gatherings with parishioners, creating opportunities for shared worship and cultural celebration.
Their visit to Our Lady of Rosary Parish, Ajra, became a highlight as they assisted in parish activities and took part in a baptism ceremony at Our Lady of Carmel Chapel, Gavse. The profound faith of the local community left a lasting impression on the youth, inspiring them to live their own faith with greater authenticity and commitment.
The group also visited the Holy Family Convent in Ajra, where the sisters shared their missionary experiences and encouraged the youth to lead lives rooted in humility and service. The encounter provided valuable insights into the power of faith expressed through daily acts of love and dedication.
Reflecting on their experience, the youth described the mission as a journey that touched hearts and strengthened their understanding of discipleship. Living among the villagers, they witnessed gratitude, simplicity, and unwavering trust in God. Through shared prayers, hymns, and celebrations, they experienced unity in diversity and a renewed sense of purpose in serving the Church. The Mission Visit concluded with expressions of gratitude to Fr. Wilson Gonsalves and Fr. Melvin Pais for their meticulous planning and coordination.
