Vellore, Tamil Nadu, Jan 13, 2025: Showcasing more than 1,500 relics of saints, the Saints’ Relics Expo 2026 is being held at the Assumption Cathedral Church, Vellore, drawing thousands of faithful from various parts of the diocese and neighbouring regions. The Expo takes place as Vellore diocese joyfully prepares to celebrate its 75th Jubilee Year, marking a historic and spiritually enriching moment in the life of the local Church.
The Expo was solemnly inaugurated on 10 January with a Holy Mass presided over by Bishop Ambrose of Vellore. In his homily, the Bishop highlighted the significance of the Jubilee Year as a time of thanksgiving, renewal, and grace, and invited the faithful to draw inspiration from the lives and witness of the saints whose relics are displayed.
The Expo will remain open to the public until 18 January. A large number of devotees continue to visit the Cathedral, prayerfully venerating the relics and seeking God’s blessings through the intercession of the saints. Many pilgrims have expressed deep spiritual consolation and a renewed sense of faith during their visit.
This Saints’ Relics Expo stands as a fitting and grace-filled beginning to the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Diocese of Vellore. It serves as a powerful reminder of the Church’s rich heritage of holiness and inspires the faithful to walk steadfastly in faith and service.
The grand spiritual event is organised by Fr. Roy Lazar, Parish Priest of the Assumption Cathedral, with the committed support of Assistant Priests Fr. Joseph and Fr. Prabu. Their pastoral vision and tireless efforts have enabled this rare and meaningful gathering of saints’ relics, making it a landmark event in the Jubilee celebrations of the Diocese.
