Dibrugarh, Assam, 20 May 2025: Twenty young priests of the Diocese of Dibrugarh, ordained after 2010, came together for a meaningful ongoing formation programme held from 18th to 20th May at the Bishop’s House, Dibrugarh. The programme was organised by the CCBI Commissions for Vocations, Seminaries, Clergy and Religious, and for Migrants. It was inaugurated with the celebration of the Holy Mass by Most Rev. Albert Hemrom, Bishop of Dibrugarh.
The priests focused on the Church’s vision for ongoing formation in today’s digital and pastoral world. They reflected deeply on their vocation, affirming that priesthood is not a burden but a blessing — a divine call to serve with zeal, holiness, and a missionary spirit. Rooted in Christ, they explored four essential areas of renewal: personal, spiritual, pastoral, and relational. Through prayer, honest sharing, and concrete resolutions, the priests committed to grow in discipline, deepen their prayer life, improve pastoral service, and strengthen fraternity among themselves.
The three-day programme was animated by CCBI Commission Secretaries Fr. Charles Leon and Fr. Jaison Vadassery, who led the sessions with clarity and inspiration. Senior priests of the diocese — Msgr. Jose Mulloparambil (Vicar General), Fr. William Horo (Rector), and Fr. Bartholomew Bergra (Parish Priest) — shared their missionary experiences and reminded the young priests that they are part of the third phase of evangelisation in the Assam Mission. The young clergy also presented short enactments of their seminary memories, helping them reconnect with their initial formation and grow more deeply as human and pastoral leaders.
This renewed commitment is a vital step towards Mission 2031 — the centenary celebration of the reopening of the Dibrugarh Mission. As shepherds with the heart of Christ, these young priests now walk with renewed joy and courage, ready to accompany the faithful, bring healing, and lead with hope. With the grace of God and the intercession of Our Blessed Mother, they move forward with passion — ready to serve, transform, and bear witness to the Gospel.
