KARNATAKA, April 14, 2025: The Karnataka chapter of the Young Catholic Students-Young Students Movement (YCS-YSM) conducted an online career guidance programme on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The session aimed to assist students in exploring career options, understanding admission processes, and developing personalised career roadmaps. The programme witnessed the active participation of around 70 students and featured Ms. FIona Soans, HR Manager at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, as the keynote speaker.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Andrea, a regional YCS-YSM member from the Chikmagalur diocese. Ms. Venus Lewis from Mangalore moderated the sessions during the programme, ensuring an engaging and well-paced session. During the programme, Ms. Soans shared her expertise on various career pathways, offering insights into job opportunities and guidance on academic and professional growth. All the attendees appreciated her address. Later, the students raised questions on diverse career fields and prospects, which Ms. Soans answered with clarity and depth.
Reflecting on her own involvement with YCS during her PUC years, Ms. Soans expressed how fulfilling it was to return and impart her knowledge to the current YCS members. The event was brought to a close with a vote of thanks by Ms. Jesvita D'Souza, President, YCS-YSM, Karnataka, who expressed gratitude to the speaker, moderators, organisers, and enthusiastic participants.
The programme proved to be a resounding success, offering students not only career insights but also valuable guidance on their academic journeys. Participants were awarded e-certificates as a token of appreciation for their involvement. The positive feedback received from the participants indicated that the session successfully addressed their career-related queries, providing them with all the knowledge required to make informed decisions about their future careers.
